Caring for Your MDF Board
MDF is not water resistant, so it is essential to seal your base before applying tiles. A simple and economical method is to mix equal parts water and PVA (Polyvinyl Acetate) and apply it to the surfaces, including the edges and back.
Once your mosaic is complete and grouted, I recommend painting the sides and back with a couple of layers of paint to prevent moisture from entering. To ensure your mosaic’s longevity, sealing the mosaic surface with a quality grout sealer is a good idea.
